Variable Airflow
Adjust motor speed for different airflow requirements and operating modes.
Compact air handlers require reliable airflow performance within limited installation space. ECM motors offer flexible speed control and efficient operation, while matched motor and blower configurations help meet application-specific airflow and static pressure requirements.
TACICON supports compact air handler manufacturers with ECM motor, blower and external driver solutions tailored to mechanical dimensions, operating conditions and control interfaces.
Adjust motor speed for different airflow requirements and operating modes.
Match the motor, blower, shaft and mounting configuration to space-constrained air handler designs.
Select motor RPM and torque around the required CFM, ESP and blower characteristics.
Configure multiple speed settings or variable-speed operation with 0–10V, Modbus and other control options.
FROM AIRFLOW REQUIREMENTS TO THE RIGHT ECM SOLUTION
From airflow and static pressure requirements to motor performance and control configuration.
Confirm required airflow for the air handler application.
Determine system resistance and required ESP.
Select suitable blower type and size.
Calculate required motor speed and torque at the operating point.
Match motor output, shaft, mounting and electrical specifications.
Configure speed control and communication options (0–10V, Modbus, etc.).

Separating the motor and driver gives HVAC OEMs greater flexibility in system design, thermal management, maintenance and motor selection.
More Flexibility
for HVAC Innovation
Adapt driver hardware, firmware and control interfaces without necessarily redesigning the motor.
Support different HVAC control requirements with a common motor platform and matched driver options.
Separate motor and driver components allow more flexible maintenance and replacement strategies.
Position the driver away from motor heat and vibration for improved thermal management and system integration.
TECHNOLOGY SPOTLIGHT
Our sensorless motor driver solutions support Hall-sensor-free BLDC motor operation, with motor-specific tuning and configurable control options.
Sensorless commutation eliminates the need for Hall sensor feedback from the motor.
Driver parameters and firmware can be optimized for motor characteristics and application requirements.
Depending on the driver model, available interfaces include 3-speed, 0–10V and RS485 control.

TACICON brings together ECM motors, impellers, blower assemblies, external drivers and HVAC controls to support OEM system integration.

Engineered to Match Your Application
ADAPTING TO CHANGING SYSTEM RESISTANCE
As filter resistance and duct pressure change, the operating point of the blower can shift. With appropriate motor, driver and control configuration, TACICON supports airflow performance tailored to changing system conditions.
Low System Resistance
Lower motor load for the required airflow.
Normal System Resistance
Motor operates at the matched RPM and torque.
Dirty Filter / Increased ESP
Motor operation adjusts to compensate for increased system resistance.

Motor, blower and driver parameters can be matched around your air handler’s airflow and static-pressure requirements.

Explore Our Custom Engineering ProcessTACICON evaluates the required airflow (CFM), external static pressure (ESP), blower characteristics, operating speed, torque, electrical specifications and installation dimensions. Based on these requirements, we select or customize a suitable ECM motor, blower and external driver configuration for the application.
Yes. TACICON provides motor and blower matching for different airflow and static pressure requirements. We evaluate the blower performance curve, motor speed and torque requirements, and driver configuration to develop a suitable solution. Actual performance is verified through application-specific testing.
Yes. TACICON's external driver architecture allows the driver board to be installed separately from the ECM motor. This provides greater flexibility in component placement, thermal management and service access. Installation must consider wiring, electrical protection, cooling and available space.
Yes. TACICON can provide matched ECM motor, impeller, blower housing and external driver solutions for compact air handlers. Blower configurations can be customized according to airflow, static pressure, mechanical dimensions and mounting requirements.
Yes. TACICON supports PSC-to-ECM conversion projects for compatible compact air handler applications. We evaluate the existing PSC motor, blower performance, mounting dimensions, electrical requirements and control interfaces to determine a suitable ECM motor and external driver solution.
To evaluate an OEM motor replacement, please provide the existing motor model or nameplate, voltage, power rating, RPM, shaft dimensions, mounting details and control requirements. Airflow (CFM), external static pressure (ESP), blower specifications and equipment drawings are also helpful for accurate motor and driver matching.
