Can TACICON supply ECM motors and external drivers separately?
Yes. TACICON supplies internal-rotor ECM motors and external motor driver boards as individual components or as matched motor and driver solutions. This modular approach gives HVAC manufacturers greater flexibility in motor selection, control integration, customization and maintenance.
Can TACICON match an ECM motor with an existing blower or impeller?
Yes. TACICON can evaluate existing blower and impeller configurations and recommend suitable ECM motor solutions based on airflow (CFM), external static pressure (ESP), motor speed, torque and mechanical requirements. We can also support motor, impeller and blower matching for new HVAC equipment designs.
Can TACICON customize driver hardware, firmware and control interfaces?
Yes. TACICON provides OEM/ODM customization for external ECM motor driver boards, including hardware configuration, motor-specific firmware tuning, speed control and communication interfaces. Depending on the driver model and project requirements, available options may include 0–10V, PWM, multi-speed control and RS485 communication.
What information is required to select a suitable ECM motor and driver?
To recommend a suitable ECM motor and external driver, TACICON typically evaluates four key requirements:
- Airflow & Static Pressure: Required airflow (CFM) and external static pressure (ESP).
- Motor Performance: Power, speed (RPM), torque and operating conditions.
- Electrical & Control: Supply voltage, speed control method and communication requirements.
- Mechanical Integration: Motor dimensions, shaft specifications, mounting arrangement and blower compatibility.
For replacement projects, customers can also provide existing motor nameplate information, model numbers, drawings or technical specifications for compatibility evaluation.
